Hello there!

If you hadn’t guessed my name is Jay Wheatley and I hope you find this page insightful into who I am and what I can do.

I studied at the University of Wollongong and completed my Bachelor of Commerce in management and marketing.

The biggest things that I learnt from my university experience was the ability to learn and adapt to whatever situations are put in front of me. Some might say I have an unquenchable thirst to discover how and why things work. One good example is while being employed as a Project Manager for an IT company it wasn’t enough for me to know that the database connected to the front end system, I needed to know how and took the initiative and began learning (our developers loved this) about web technologies like MySQL, PHP and javascript.

Not long after this I started toying around with iOS development just for my own personal projects, fast forward 1 year and I have released a commercial iPad app on the Apple app store and had created bespoke apps for small business. Now with 3 years experience I am harnessing my business acumen acquired at university along with my natural entrepreneurial nature to look for niches that aren’t being serviced and provide software and business solutions for them.

Focused and ambitious, I am interested in positions that can challenge me to grow professionally (and maybe personally) where I can make a valued contribution to the organisation that I am working for and hopefully learn something new at the same time!

cheers Regards,

Jay
